SAMEER I. AHMAD M.D.
Sameer Ahmad is a Glaucoma surgeon and specialist who was on the full-time faculty as an Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology at the Wilmer Eye Institute, Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine from 2004 to 2007. Johns Hopkins later recruited him to go on sabbatical at the King Khalid Eye Specialist Hospital (KKESH) in Saudi Arabia to treat glaucoma in children.
Today, Dr. Ahmad works on the faculty of both the University of Maryland and Howard University. A board-certified ophthalmologist, Dr. Ahmad specializes in the evaluation and management of patients with routine and complicated glaucoma. He is skilled in most glaucoma laser surgery techniques and his experience with incisional surgery includes glaucoma filtering surgery, glaucoma tube implants, the revision of glaucoma filtering procedures, and combined cataract and glaucoma surgery.
He has special interests in advanced surgical techniques for previously operated eyes, patients with corneal transplants, and neovascular glaucomas. His research interests are in developing novel glaucoma implants as well as utilizing medical informatics tools to improve patient education and health care delivery.
Dr. Ahmad received his medical degree at Tufts University School of Medicine where he was inducted into the prestigious AOA national medical honor society. He then served as a General Medical Officer in the United States Air Force for 4 years. He completed his ophthalmology residency at Duke University where he was also selected as Chief Resident and later completed his Glaucoma fellowship.

Ali M. Allahdina, MD
Dr. Allahdina is a fellowship trained glaucoma specialist that specializes in the evaluation and management of patients with routine and complicated glaucoma. He is skilled in glaucoma incisional surgeries including glaucoma filtering surgery, glaucoma tube implants, MIGS (Microinvasive Glaucoma Surgery such as Hydrus® Microstent) as well as combined cataract and glaucoma surgery. He also specializes extensively in cataract surgeries involving specialty lenses and Femtosecond Laser Assisted Cataract Surgeries.
Dr. Allahdina brings a wealth of leadership and service experience to our practice. With a background as Clinical Chief Resident at Lake Nona Orlando VAMC and a Representative Member of the Resident Education Committee at Howard University Hospital, Dr. Allahdina is a seasoned professional in the field. Their active involvement in professional affiliations such as the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, American Glaucoma Society, and American Academy of Ophthalmology showcases their commitment to staying at the forefront of their field.
Beyond medicine, Dr. Allahdina enjoys travel, golf, and community service, demonstrating a well-rounded approach to life. We are privileged to have such a dedicated and versatile physician as part of our team.
